Amazon.com: $5 off $15+ book purchase code!

One of my favorite Amazon deals that pops up occasionally is a discount code on books! If that's you too, today is the day -- get $5 off when you spend $15 or more on books offered by Amazon.com. Just enter code PRIMEBOOKS17 at checkout! (offer expires at 11:59 p.m. PT, July 12, 2017)

I've been wanting to recommend a book already, so this is perfect! I recently bought the book, Nourishing Beginnings Baby Food: Nutrient Dense Recipes for Infants, Toddlers and Beyond Inspired by Ancient Wisdom and Traditional Foods.  (I want to always have this on hand for baby shower gifts!)

You guys....this book is gorgeous! But it's not only beautiful to look at and really well laid out, but these recipes are so simple and doable! I think we're often overwhelmed with how to make healthy whole-food options for our little ones, so we often go with convenience instead. She explains the how and why really well. This cookbook makes it easy to pack so much nutrition into our kids' food, making every bite count and giving our babies the best start! And it's not only for children, many of these recipes would be great nourishing recipes for myself or the whole family!

(I've also had the pleasure of meeting the author and she's delightful...Renee has such a passion for nourishing ourselves and our babies! You can follow her on facebook at Raising Generation Nourished.)

Another book I considered getting is "Trim Healthy Mama's Trim Healthy Table", the new cookbook from the Trim Healthy Mama (THM) sisters. Between the pre-order price and the $5 off code, it's more than 50% off right now!
THM is the eating plan I started following a little over 3 years ago. The first 7 months I changed my eating habits, I lost 45 pounds and I've kept it off! It's seriously one of the best things I've ever found -- it's completely doable (for the whole family!) and I feel my very best when I eat this way.
After a couple years of health issues and new babies, I've gotten a little too relaxed lazy about what we eat, but I'm ready to focus again and lose the rest! I love the first Trim Healthy Mama cookbook, and I'm excited to see what new deliciousness they've come up with!

**Also, today is Amazon Prime day, where they offer deep discounts to Prime members -- some will be limited time lightning deals so you'll have to be quick, and some will be all day! (Browse the deals here, and stay tuned on Facebook as I'll try to post hot deals as I see them! If you're not a Prime member already you can check it out with a 30-day free trial!)  I've already seen some great deals on a Ninja Professional blender and an 8-qt. Instant Pot, among others!

Easy way to save money online! Best Cashback sites!

Easy way to save money online! (best cash back sites)

Online shopping has become my favorite!! I can find the best deal, get what I want quickly delivered to my door, and I don't have to pack up all the kiddos to do it!

As a lot of us are doing some last minute Christmas shopping right now, I thought I'd share my favorite tip to save money when shopping online....cash back sites!  I shop at my favorite stores (like Kohl's, Home depot, Amazon...) as usual, but when I go through a site listed below, they give me a percentage back on my purchase!
It's SO simple to do:
  • Go to the cashback site
  • Click on the store of your choice (each store offers a different cash back percentage)
  • Do your shopping and they'll credit you with the cash....nothing to redeem, no forms to mail!
It adds up in your online account, and when it reaches a certain point (varies by site), a check is in the mail (or another payment if you choose)!  To make it even better, it's free to sign up and many offer a $5-$10 bonus when you sign up and make your first purchase...and you can pass on a referral link to help your friends save money too!

Here are my favorite cash back sites that I check *every time* I make an online purchase (and some highlights of each site)...

Ebates: $10 new member bonus, over 1,800 stores

Mr. Rebates: $5 new member bonus, over 2,000 stores

Shop At Home: $10 new member bonus, up to 70% cash back, 110% cash back guarantee

TopCashback: no minimum payout threshold

I usually do a quick check to see who's offering the most cash back that day since it varies.  I've gotten hundreds back in just a couple years (on things we've needed anyway!) which has been a huge blessing to my family!  This is my favorite and easiest way to save online!

Thankful Leaves Craft - fun display of gratefulness

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday, but the more time goes on the more I just *love* Thanksgiving!  I love the chance to get together with friends and family of course...but also the low-key gift-free low-expectations time, amazing food, and more than anything - the focus on gratitude.

Over the past few years I've been learning, reading, and growing in the understanding the importance and power of gratitude.  It's incredible how simply turning your attention to your blessings instead of your problems can change your entire outlook on life!!

Our best friends had us over for Thanksgiving last year and she had this cute (and simple!) craft project set up. Blank paper leaf shapes were spread out on the table with pens ready for us to write down what we were thankful for. The kids went for it right away, and I loved seeing the things they were grateful for!

This concept isn't new of course, jotting down what we're thankful for at Thanksgiving...but I really liked how Amy had it set up, and how it added such great color and was part of the decor!  She had strings hanging from the curtain rod, so once we wrote out our little leaves, we grabbed a clothespin and hung it up in front of the window...it was a beautiful display to see so many of the blessings in our life.
I love the idea of doing this throughout the year, not only at Thanksgiving!

When you do this, you could either cut your leaves out of construction paper, or buy ready made die-cut leaves. And you could display them in many ways of course...
  • hang them vertically like my friend did
  • hang them like a banner
  • scatter them on the table or buffet
  • make them into a "tree" on the wall
  • gather some branches and make them into a "thankful tree"

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!!
